Deep Cleaning Balham Service Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which Deep Cleaning Balham provides professional cleaning services to residential and commercial clients. By booking or using any of our services you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before making a booking.

1. Definitions

In these Terms and Conditions the following expressions have the meanings set out below.

Client means any individual, business or organisation that requests, books or receives services from Deep Cleaning Balham.

Company means Deep Cleaning Balham, the provider of the cleaning services.

Services means any cleaning, deep cleaning, end of tenancy cleaning, one off cleaning, regular cleaning or related services provided by the Company.

Premises means the property or properties where the Services are to be carried out.

Cleaning Operative means an employee, contractor or representative of the Company who carries out the Services.

2. Scope of Services

The Company provides domestic and commercial cleaning services within its operating area, including deep cleaning and related services as agreed with the Client at the time of booking. The exact scope of work, including rooms, areas, and any specific tasks, will be confirmed during the booking process and reflected in the booking confirmation.

The Company reserves the right to decline or discontinue any service if the Premises are deemed unsafe, if there are health hazards present, or if the task requested falls outside the scope of normal professional cleaning activities.

3. Booking Process

Bookings may be made by the Client through the Company’s chosen communication channels. By making a booking the Client confirms that they have the authority to do so in respect of the Premises and accepts these Terms and Conditions.

The Client must provide accurate information regarding the size and condition of the Premises, type of property, number of rooms, presence of pets, and any particular requirements or issues that may affect the duration or complexity of the work. The Company relies on this information to estimate the time, staffing and price for the Services.

All bookings are subject to acceptance and availability. The Company will confirm the booking, including the date, time, scope of work and indicative price, prior to the scheduled service. No booking is considered final until it has been confirmed by the Company.

The Client must ensure that there is sufficient access to the Premises at the agreed time and that any parking arrangements required for the Cleaning Operative’s vehicle have been made in advance.

4. Access to the Premises

The Client is responsible for providing safe and timely access to the Premises at the agreed start time. Access may be granted in person or through secure key arrangements agreed in advance with the Company.

If the Cleaning Operative is unable to gain access at the agreed time due to incorrect details, absent keyholders or any other reason not caused by the Company, the visit may be cancelled or rescheduled and a call out or cancellation fee may apply in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.

Where keys are provided to the Company, the Client confirms that they have the right to authorise use of those keys. The Company will take reasonable care to safeguard keys but accepts no liability for pre existing security risks or defects in locks, doors or windows.

5. Pricing and Quotations

Prices are generally based on the information provided by the Client regarding the Premises and required Services. Any quotes or estimates given prior to inspection are indicative and may be adjusted if the actual condition or size of the Premises differs materially from the Client’s description or if additional work is requested.

The Company may charge on a fixed price or hourly rate basis, depending on the type of service. Any minimum charges or call out fees will be communicated to the Client at the time of booking.

Additional services requested on the day of the clean that were not included in the original booking may incur extra charges. The Cleaning Operative will, where practicable, inform the Client of any likely increase in price before undertaking such additional work.

6. Payments and Invoicing

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, payment for Services is due on the day of service. The Company may require payment in advance or a deposit as a condition of confirming the booking, particularly for larger jobs or specialist work.

Accepted methods of payment will be communicated to the Client during the booking process. The Client must ensure that cleared funds are available by the due date.

For regular or commercial Clients, invoicing arrangements may be agreed separately. Invoices are payable within the payment terms stated on the invoice. If no specific terms are stated, payment is due immediately upon receipt.

The Company reserves the right to charge interest and reasonable administration fees on overdue balances until full payment has been received. Continued non payment may result in suspension or termination of Services and may be referred to a third party for debt collection.

7. Cancellations, Rescheduling and Late Changes

The Client may cancel or reschedule a booking by providing notice to the Company. A minimum notice period will generally apply. If the Client cancels or changes a booking with insufficient notice, a cancellation or late change fee may be charged to cover the Company’s costs and loss of opportunity.

If the Cleaning Operative attends the Premises and is unable to commence work due to lack of access, health and safety concerns or other reasons beyond the Company’s control, the visit may be treated as a late cancellation and charged accordingly.

The Company aims to provide services on the agreed date and time but reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a booking due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to staff illness, severe weather, transport disruption or emergencies at other jobs. In such cases the Company will offer the Client the next available appointment but will not be liable for any consequential loss.

8. Client Obligations and Preparation

The Client agrees to provide a safe working environment for the Cleaning Operatives and to ensure that the Premises are reasonably accessible and free from hazards. This includes securing valuable or fragile items, ensuring adequate lighting, and informing the Company in advance of any known risks or restrictions.

The Client should remove or arrange safe storage for small personal items, valuables, jewellery, cash and important documents prior to the service. The Company does not accept responsibility for any such items left in open or unsecured areas.

Where specialist equipment, products or instructions are required for particular surfaces or finishes, the Client must notify the Company in advance. If the Client requests the use of their own cleaning products or equipment, the Company will not be liable for any defects or damage arising from those products or equipment.

9. Quality of Service and Complaints

The Company aims to deliver Services to a professional standard. If the Client is not satisfied with any aspect of the cleaning, they must notify the Company as soon as reasonably practicable, preferably within 24 hours of the service.

Where a complaint is justified and relates to the quality of the Service, the Company may at its discretion offer a re clean of the affected area or another reasonable remedy. The Company will not normally provide refunds where it has been given the opportunity to rectify the issue.

Complaints or claims made more than a reasonable time after the service may be difficult to investigate and may not be accepted. The Client agrees to cooperate with the Company in investigating any complaint, including providing photographs and reasonable access to the Premises.

10. Liability and Insurance

The Company will exercise reasonable skill and care in providing the Services. The Company maintains appropriate insurance cover, subject to the policy terms and conditions, for public liability and, where applicable, employer’s liability.

The Company’s liability for any loss or damage arising from or in connection with the Services is limited to the lesser of the cost of remedying the damage or the total price paid by the Client for the specific service during which the incident occurred. The Company will not be liable for any indirect or consequential losses, including loss of profit, loss of opportunity or inconvenience.

The Company is not liable for normal wear and tear, pre existing damage, defects in materials or workmanship, or issues arising from the Client’s failure to follow manufacturer’s instructions for surfaces, appliances or finishes. The Company is also not liable for damage caused by the use of products supplied by the Client or for work undertaken at the Client’s specific direction against the Company’s advice.

Fragile or high value items, including antiques, artworks, collectibles and items of sentimental value, must be disclosed to the Company in advance and ideally stored safely away from areas being cleaned. The Company accepts no responsibility for undisclosed or inadequately protected fragile items.

11. Waste Handling and Environmental Regulations

The Company complies with applicable waste and environmental regulations relating to the disposal of materials arising from cleaning activities. General household waste generated in the course of normal cleaning may be placed in the Client’s bins, using the Client’s usual refuse arrangements.

The Company does not provide a licensed waste removal service for large quantities of rubbish, construction debris, hazardous substances, sharps, biological waste, or regulated materials. Where such waste is present, the Client is responsible for arranging appropriate removal through a licensed carrier. The Company may refuse to handle or remove any waste that it considers hazardous, inappropriate or beyond the scope of standard cleaning services.

The Client must inform the Company in advance of any known contamination, infestations, or potential health risks within the Premises. The Company reserves the right to withdraw services or adjust pricing where additional safety measures, specialist equipment or extended timescales are required.

12. Health, Safety and Conduct

The Company is committed to maintaining high standards of health and safety for both Clients and Cleaning Operatives. Cleaning Operatives are required to follow relevant safety procedures and to refuse tasks that could put them at risk of injury or illness.

The Client agrees not to request any tasks that involve working at unsafe heights, handling hazardous materials, moving particularly heavy items alone, or any other activity that falls outside reasonable cleaning practice. The Company may, at its discretion, provide such services only where appropriate equipment and staffing are available.

The Client must treat Cleaning Operatives with respect and must not engage in any abusive, discriminatory or inappropriate behaviour. The Company reserves the right to withdraw Services immediately in the event of unacceptable conduct by the Client or anyone present at the Premises.

13. Property Damage and Breakages

In the event of accidental damage or breakage caused by a Cleaning Operative, the Client must report this to the Company as soon as it is discovered and in any event within a reasonable period following the service.

The Company may request evidence of the damage and reserves the right to arrange for repair or replacement by a contractor of its choosing, rather than providing monetary compensation. Any settlement will take into account fair wear and tear, age and condition of the item or surface.

14. Force Majeure

The Company will not be liable for any delay or failure to perform its obligations under these Terms and Conditions where such delay or failure results from events beyond its reasonable control. Such events may include, but are not limited to, extreme weather, transport disruption, power failures, industrial disputes, public health emergencies, acts of government, or other unforeseen circumstances.

Where a force majeure event occurs, the Company will use reasonable efforts to notify the Client and to reschedule the Services as soon as practical.

15. Privacy and Confidentiality

The Company respects the privacy of its Clients and will take reasonable steps to ensure that personal data is handled securely and in accordance with applicable data protection laws. Information provided by the Client will be used only for the purpose of arranging and delivering the Services, handling payments, and managing the business relationship.

Cleaning Operatives are expected to treat all information relating to the Client and the Premises as confidential. The Company may, however, disclose such information where required to do so by law or where necessary to enforce these Terms and Conditions.

16. Amendments to Terms

The Company may update or amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time to reflect changes in law, business practices or services offered. The current version will apply to all bookings made after the date on which the updated Terms and Conditions are published or notified to Clients.

Where material changes affect ongoing service arrangements, the Company will, where practicable, notify regular Clients in advance. Continued use of the Services following such notification will constitute acceptance of the revised Terms and Conditions.

17. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or with the provision of the Services, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

The parties agree that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions or the Services provided by the Company.

18. Severability

If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable by a court or other competent authority, such provision shall be deemed modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid, lawful and enforceable. If such modification is not possible, the relevant provision shall be deemed deleted. Any such modification or deletion shall not affect the validity and enforceability of the remaining provisions.

19. Entire Agreement

These Terms and Conditions constitute the entire agreement between the Company and the Client in relation to the Services and supersede any prior representations, understandings or agreements, whether oral or written, relating to their subject matter. No variation to these Terms and Conditions shall be binding unless agreed in writing by the Company.
